Our Club supports local, national and international charities, and organises or participates in fund raising events throughout the year in support on these. Our fundraising policy is to collect for specific charities and donate the proceeds to the nominated Charities.

AQUAFEST (1st Sunday in July) is an event which our Club actively participates in. In 2009 - our Club willplay an active role in helping to make this event one of the most popular in the Ely Calendar

The FATHER CHRISTMAS STREET COLLECTION takes place in the weeks preceding Christmas, and collects door to door from home within the Ely boundaries. This event is organised by the Ely Rotary Club, and collectors from our Club help make up the numbers.

Our portion of monies raised from AQUAFEST and the FATHER CHRISTMAS STREET COLLECTION will be distributed between the Club's local chosen charities (which for 2008 - 2009 were Age Concern and Care Network)

The Club also organises collections in the Ely City Centre on behalf of local Charities. We also help The British Legion in their Poppy Appeal, Marie Curie, Barnados, NSPCC by collecting on their behalf

Following the success of our first GREAT ELY WALK it has now been established as an annual event that will take place this year in MAY. The route takes in some of Ely’s best known landmarks as well as a few “hidden treasures”.

Charity fund raisers, either as professionals or private individuals are invited to either field walkers or walk themselves to raise money for their chosen charity. All sponsorship monies raised by the walkers will be retained by them to donate directly to their chosen charity.
